19 Dec, 2022 by admin General

A Memorandum of Understanding between the Ghana Meteorological Agency and the Danish Meteorological Institute for Strategic Sector Programme, Inception Phase October 2022 – September 2023, was signed on 15th December 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Agreement was signed during a visit to Denmark from 10th to 17th December 2022 by a four (4)-member delegation from the Ghana Meteorological Agency led by Mr. Eric Asuman, the Ag. Director-General of the Agency. The visit, among others, was to explore and identify common areas of interest for collaboration and capacity building, and ultimately to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.

As part of the visit, Ghana’s Ambassador to Denmark, H.E. Mrs. Sylvia Naa Adaawa Annoh hosted the delegation to a breakfast meeting at the Embassy of Ghana in Copenhagen. She lauded the strategic cooperation between the Ghana Meteorological Agency and the Danish Meteorological Institute and acknowledged the wealth of experience that could be shared by both sides.

Mr. Eric Asuman, on his part, affirmed that the Ghana Meteorological Agency was poised to embark on significant transformational strategies and policies, for which reason the collaboration with Danish counterparts served as a breakthrough for the Agency.

Ambassador Annoh participated in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ghana Meteorological Agency and Danish Meteorological Institute and was thereafter taken on a tour of the forecast rooms at the DMI offices.
